The thirteenth annual Chicago Humanities Festival, Brains & Beauty, examined the tensions and ties between intelligence and aesthetics across centuries, cultures, and generations. This paradoxical yet timeless theme explores ways of knowing and seeing...of thinking and idealizing...of probing the working of the intellect and the allure of beauty. At our Fall Festival, the CHF invited the public to hear from the best and brightest in the arts and humanities, and to join the discussion and debate. Download the 2002 press release.
