October 30 - November 14, 2004 An incredible collection of writers, illustrators, storytellers, musicians, and performers came to Chicago in the fall of 2004 to entertain and educate, as part of the Children’s Humanities Festival, from October 30 through November 14, 2004. Programs spanned two weekends, and encompassed a broad variety of disciplines, including film animation, music, theater, storytelling, art and illustration, workshops, and much more. Best of all, teachers and students are admitted free! The Children’s Humanities Festival, now in its fifth year, has quickly grown to become one of the country’s leading cultural festivals for young people. A production of the Chicago Humanities Festival, the Children’s Festival was created to awaken children and teens to the joys of the arts and humanities. Each year, it echoes the annual theme of the larger fall festival which, in 2004, examined TIME and took place November 4 – 14.
