Taylor Branch - At Canaan's Edge

We live in a world remade by Martin Luther King, Jr. So says Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Taylor Branch, author of the monumental and definitive Civil Rights-era history America in the King Years, 1954-1968. He will discuss the work’s third and final volume At Canaan’s Edge: 1965-1968 on February 8 during a luncheon program. Branch will be interviewed by Laura Washington, Chicago Sun-Times columnist and Ida B. Wells-Barnett Professor and fellow, DePaul Humanities Center.
This special event is presented in partnership with the Union League Club, The Chicago Illinois Chapter of the Links, Inc. Fund of the Chicago Community Trust, the Chicago Historical Society, and The Book Stall.
