The Classics in Context colloquia focus on classics, offering teachers the opportunity to discuss various aspects of a text with scholars.
Sometimes, all it takes to change your mind is to consider a new perspective. The Chicago Humanities Festival Education program puts that theory into action with a brand new season of Classics in Context, a seminar series for Chicago- area teachers – led by renowned humanities scholars – that takes a fresh look at universally taught and contemporary literary classics.
The humanities institutes of the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Northwestern University, and DePaul University, as well as the Newberry Library and the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Chicago, host these free, one-day colloquia for teachers.
Classics in Context sessions are open to practicing teachers only - advance reservations are required. For more information call or e-mail .
