Shigeru Ban

Festival Program
The award-winning Japanese architect is perhaps best known for the refugee housing he designed in Rwanda, Japan and Turkey, all of which were constructed of little more than cardboard tubes. Ban’s ingenious use of cardboard has redefined permanent and temporary shelter.
Generously sponsored by the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts and presented in partnership with the Chicago Architecture Foundation.
