The Chicago Humanities Festival and the Chicago Tribune's Printers Row Book Fair proudly present eminent scholar and bestselling novelist Umberto Eco for a reading and discussion of his new graphic novel, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana (June, 2005).

Famed author of The Name of the Rose (1980), Umberto Eco comes to Chicago to talk about his latest novel, The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana. Eco’s recent novel takes place in contemporary Italy and follows Yambo, an aging book dealer who suffers from a mysterious loss in memory. In his dire quest to regain the past, his memories run rampant, and the life racing before his eyes takes the form of a graphic novel. Yambo struggles through these exquisite frames to capture one simple, innocent image: his first love.
