Festival Program
The chair of the Program in American Culture at U. of Michigan discusses the cultural and geographic migrations of his mixed-race family between New York and the Dakotas. Examining his grandparents’ marriage that brought together Dutch colonial and mixed-blood French-Indian families (not to mention South Dakota reservations and New York City educations), Deloria delves into the success and pain born from his family’s migrations.
Generously sponsored in part by the University of Michigan Institute for the Humanities.
