PERFORMANCE: Ars Musica Chicago—Chief Chicagou in Paris
The local early music group explores the interplay between Native American music and the music of 18th century France, exemplified in the story of Chief Chicagou, the Michigamea chief who in 1725 visited Paris, where he became an instant sensation at the royal court and inspired works by Rameau and others.
