Authors Luis Alberto Urrea, Manuel Muñoz, Rubén Martínez, and Brenda Cárdenas ponder their heritage in a conversation that asks how the Mexican-American identity factors into their lives and work.
Urrea is a UIC professor and a recent Pulitzer Prize nominee for The Devil’s Highway; Martínez is the author of Crossing Over: A Mexican Family on the Migrant Trail, and has also appeared as a commentator on Nightline, Frontline, and CNN. Muñoz is the author of the recent book Zigzagger; Cárdenas is a Chicago poet known for blending Spanish and English in her work.
