JAN-CHRISTOPHER HORAK: German-Jewish Filmmakers in Hollywood Exile
After 1933 over 1500 German-Jewish filmmakers were forced into exile, one-third of whom landed in Hollywood. While Fritz Lang, Billy Wilder, and Otto Preminger are well-known, many others also influenced the look and feel of American cinema in its golden age.
